Typographic subway map. All the stops on a subway line are written out to form the route of the track!
Way too awesome. I totally want this. $25 from TRNSPRTNATION.
Also, I love that when you remove all the stuff under the subway lines, what’s left behind looks like the side profile of a man. Teehee!

New York’s New Littles Throughout June, the Brian Lehrer Show was discussing and exploring “The New Littles” of New York City, “areas of ethnic concentration you may not know about or are changing quickly.” The show gathered data and mapped it.
In conclusion, they asked local artists and illustrators to create maps of these new neighborhoods. “The response was incredible, full of talent, inventiveness and community spirit.” Here are 18 submissions.

Maps (Acoustic/Strings Version)
for the last hour or so, i’ve been looking for old maps of brooklyn to buy and have been hitting dead ends until i stumbled upon this website which has quite an extensive inventory of vintage streets maps to all these places. i’m sort of hooked. it took me a while to locate my neighborhood in brooklyn since all the maps seem to split the neighborhoods at 86th street, which forced me to choose sides: am i bensonhurst/new utrecht, or am i bath beach/gravesend. hm. in the end, i think i will purchase both. or make a last minute decision because i kind of want a map of morningside heights.
and this of course. this being bleecker street and christopher street.
